The agreement between RSVIP and everyone who creates an invitation, responds to one, refers a customer or lists a service.
Effective 7 October 2026
Please read this with the other three documents. The Privacy Policy, the Refund and Cancellation Policy and the POPIA and PAIA notice form part of these Terms. By creating an account, building an invitation, responding to one, or otherwise using RSVIP, you agree to all four.

1. Agreement and eligibility
These Terms form an agreement between you and RSVIP, a platform operated by Kanvas Creative Solutions in South Africa (together "RSVIP", "we", "us" or "our"). If you do not accept them, do not use the platform.
Account holders must be at least 18 years old, or have the consent of a parent or guardian, and must be legally able to enter into this agreement. You must give accurate information and keep your email address, sign-in PINs, sign-in links and WhatsApp account secure.
RSVIP is designed for users in South Africa and charges in South African Rand. A user outside South Africa may use it, but must comply with their own local laws, and does so on the basis that South African law governs these Terms.
2. What RSVIP provides
RSVIP provides mobile and desktop invitation pages for weddings and other events, and the tools to run them, including:
invitation themes, cover images, a date badge, a countdown, a theme song, and Classic or Editorial desktop layouts;
RSVP forms and guest-response tracking (attendance, party size, dietary needs and messages), guest whitelists and private guest access;
invitations by email and SMS, WhatsApp-ready sharing, short links and QR codes;
programmes and schedules (with optional AI formatting), about sections, speakers, sponsors and partners;
official galleries, a guest camera Public Gallery, and a per-event Community feed;
gift registry entries, contact buttons, live-stream links, notes, and host-supplied tracking such as Google Analytics or a Meta Pixel;
co-organiser access, the Len AI assistant, an affiliate programme and a vendor directory.
RSVIP supplies the technology. The host remains responsible for the event itself - the date, venue, programme, catering, safety, guest list and everything said in the invitation - and for their relationship with their guests.
3. Accounts and signing in
RSVIP accounts are passwordless. You sign in with a six-digit PIN sent to your email address, a one-tap sign-in link in that email, or a message sent from your WhatsApp number. Anyone with access to your email or WhatsApp can sign in as you, so keep those secure and never share a PIN or sign-in link. RSVIP staff will never ask you for one.
Where one email address or number gives access to more than one account, event or wedding, you will be asked which one to open.
A host may give a co-organiser sign-in access to a single event by switching on "Can sign in" for their email address or WhatsApp number. The host is responsible for who they give access to, and for anything a co-organiser does in that event. Access ends when the host switches it off.
A signed-in session ends after a period of inactivity, for your protection.
4. Hosts and organisers
As a host you must:
ensure your event details, dates, venue, contacts and content are accurate and not misleading;
only upload material you own or are licensed to use, including photos, music, logos and text;
have a lawful basis to send invitations, email and SMS to the people on your guest list, and respect their wish not to be contacted;
handle your guests' personal information lawfully - for your guest list you are a responsible party under POPIA, and RSVIP processes it on your behalf;
moderate the content guests add to your Public Gallery and Community, and remove anything unlawful or offensive; and
only add tracking scripts you are entitled to use, and give any notice the law requires to your guests.
We may pause, unpublish or remove invitations or content that are unlawful, deceptive, offensive, infringing, technically harmful or contrary to these Terms.
5. Guests
A guest who opens an invitation, responds to an RSVP, uploads a photo or joins a Community does not need an account and pays nothing. A guest's relationship about the event is with the host; RSVIP provides the page.
When you respond, you confirm the details you give are yours, or that you are allowed to give them for the people in your party. Your response is shared with the host. Some features, such as posting in a Community, ask you to confirm your RSVP with a PIN first.
6. Prices, payment and SMS credits
Prices. All prices are in South African Rand (ZAR). The price shown at checkout is the amount charged, after any discount coupon.
Payment methods. We accept PayFast (card, instant EFT and other PayFast methods) and electronic funds transfer (EFT). Card details are entered on PayFast's secure page. RSVIP never sees or stores your full card number, expiry date or security code.
Activation. Payment is required before an invitation is activated. A paid invitation is one invitation for one wedding or event; it cannot be re-used for a different event.
SMS credits. Each paid invitation includes 500 SMS credits. A long message may use more than one credit per recipient. Credits belong to that invitation, have no cash value and are not refundable. Credits for messages that fail to send are returned to the balance.
Coupons. A coupon gives the discount stated on it, may be limited in number of uses and may expire. Coupons have no cash value.
Price changes. We may change prices with 30 days' notice. A change never affects an invitation already paid for.
7. Refunds, cancellation and postponement
These are dealt with in full in the Refund and Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these Terms. In summary: a mistaken or duplicate payment is always refunded; a cancellation before we start creating your invitation is possible subject to an administrative fee; once creation has started, or the event date has passed, the service is not refundable; and a postponement can be accommodated for a small fee.
Nothing in these Terms removes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Consumer Protection Act, 2008 or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, 2002.
8. Your content, galleries and acceptable use
You keep ownership of the content you provide - photos, text, music, logos and personal information. You grant RSVIP a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, resize, reproduce and display it only as needed to run, secure and support your invitation and the platform. We do not use your photos or content in our own marketing without your permission.
Anyone who submits a photo through an enabled Public Gallery camera or Community confirms that they took it or may share it, that the people in it are happy to be shown, and that it may be seen by the host and by visitors to the invitation.
You may not use RSVIP to send spam, commit fraud, impersonate anyone, harass people, publish unlawful, hateful or sexually explicit material, infringe anyone's rights, upload malicious code, scrape the service, probe its security or interfere with it. We may remove content and suspend accounts that do.
9. Community and guest photos
A Community is a photo feed on an invitation. Anyone with the invitation can read it. To post, a guest confirms their RSVP with a PIN and adds a profile photo; posts are taken with the phone camera. The host can pause or close posting and remove posts, and RSVIP may remove posts that break these Terms.
Communities are not offered for funerals, memorials or events with the RSVP form switched off.
10. Email, SMS and WhatsApp
You agree to receive the transactional messages the service needs: sign-in PINs and links, payment and activation notices, RSVP notifications and material service notices. These are not marketing. We may send occasional marketing about RSVIP, and you can opt out at any time.
Hosts who send invitations by email or SMS are responsible for having a lawful basis to contact each recipient and for honouring opt-outs. We cannot guarantee that every email or SMS is delivered: spam filters, wrong addresses or numbers, and provider policies can stop a message. Hosts should confirm their guests have received their invitations.
11. Len and AI features
Len, the RSVIP assistant, answers questions about the platform using an AI model provided by a third party. The programme formatter can also use AI to lay out a programme you have typed. AI can make mistakes: Len's answers are guidance, not advice, and where they differ from these Terms or from what the platform shows, these Terms and the platform prevail.
Len cannot see or change your account, events or payments. Do not share PINs, passwords, card numbers, banking details or other sensitive information in the chat. What you type, and any picture or PDF you attach, is sent to the AI provider to produce a reply; see the Privacy Policy.
12. Affiliate partner programme
An account holder may join the affiliate programme and receive a referral link and QR code. When someone follows the link and creates an account within 30 days, that account is linked to the partner, and the partner earns the commission shown in their dashboard - R100 by default - for each paid invitation that account buys.
Commission is earned only on payments that clear. It may be reversed if the payment is refunded, reversed or found to be fraudulent.
Partners may request a withdrawal of their available balance to a South African bank account in their name, subject to any payout minimum shown in their dashboard.
Partners may not refer themselves, use misleading claims, spam people, or pose as RSVIP.
We may adjust a partner's rate or minimum for the future, and may suspend a partner, or withhold commission, for a breach of these rules.
13. Vendor directory
These terms apply to wedding and event service providers ("Vendors") who list in the RSVIP vendor directory.
Platform role. RSVIP is a directory that connects hosts with Vendors. RSVIP is not a party to any agreement between a Vendor and a customer, does not vet the quality of services, and takes no commission on bookings unless agreed separately in writing.
Accurate listings. Vendors must keep their business name, contact details, categories, locations, descriptions and portfolio accurate and current, and must hold the rights to everything they upload.
Independent status. A listing does not create an agency, partnership, joint venture or employment relationship with RSVIP.
Conduct. Vendors should respond promptly and professionally to enquiries. All quotes, deposits, payments and disputes are between the Vendor and the customer.
Removal. We may suspend or remove a listing for breach of these Terms, substantiated complaints of fraud or deceptive practice, false information, or conduct harmful to RSVIP or its users. A Vendor may close a listing at any time by emailing us.
No guarantee. We make no promise about the number of enquiries or bookings a listing will produce. The Vendor indemnifies RSVIP against claims arising from their services or their dealings with customers.
14. Custom features and intellectual property
The RSVIP platform, designs, templates and software belong to Kanvas Creative Solutions and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property law. You may not copy, modify or distribute them without permission.
A custom feature for your invitation may be requested at an extra fee, subject to technical feasibility and our approval. Unless a written agreement says otherwise before the work starts, a feature we build may be added to the general platform and remains our intellectual property; the content you supply remains yours.
15. Retention of invitations
An invitation and its programme may be removed from the platform 30 days after the event date or the end of any longer retention period we have agreed with you. Please download or export what you want to keep before then. How long personal information is kept is set out in the Privacy Policy.
16. Support, availability and changes
Support is by email within 48 hours on business days, and by phone or WhatsApp during support hours. Support does not cover guests' devices, internet connections, third-party email providers, or problems caused by changes a user makes to invitation code.
We work to keep RSVIP available but cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Planned maintenance is announced where practical. RSVIP relies on hosting, payment, email, SMS, WhatsApp and AI providers whose availability can affect the service.
We may improve, replace or discontinue features. We may restrict or end access for material breaches, fraud, abuse of support, legal requirements or threats to users or the platform; a first breach may receive a warning, repeated breaches a suspension, and serious ones immediate termination. You may appeal a decision within 14 days. Payment, refund and legal obligations survive termination.
17. Warranties, liability and indemnity
The platform is provided as it stands. To the extent the law allows, RSVIP excludes implied warranties and is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit, lost data, an undelivered message, or loss caused by a host, a guest, a vendor or a third-party provider.
Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the invitation concerned. Nothing limits liability for fraud, gross negligence or anything else that may not lawfully be limited.
We are not liable for failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as natural disasters, pandemics, government action, internet or power outages, cyber attacks or strikes. We will make reasonable efforts to resume normal service.
You indemnify RSVIP against claims arising from your event, your content, your guest communications, your use of the platform or your breach of these Terms.
18. Complaints and disputes
Tell us first: email rsvp@kanvas.co.za with your account email, the invitation and what happened. We aim to acknowledge within one business day and to resolve or explain within ten business days.
If a complaint is not resolved, it may go to mediation, and you may approach the National Consumer Commission, a recognised consumer ombud, or a court of competent jurisdiction. Any claim must be brought within one year of the cause of action arising, to the extent the law allows such a limit.
19. Governing law and general provisions
These Terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa, and the South African courts have jurisdiction.
If a clause is found unenforceable, the rest stands. A delay in enforcing a right is not a waiver of it. You may not cede your rights under these Terms without our written consent. These Terms, with the Privacy Policy, the Refund and Cancellation Policy and the POPIA and PAIA notice, are the whole agreement between us about the platform.
We may update these Terms. The current version and its effective date stay on this page, and material changes are notified by email or on the platform where reasonably possible, with 30 days' notice for changes to prices.
